Wood Shop Horror

This was also in my submission, but it is oooold. Maybe about 2 years old. Created for drawing concepts 1 class.

Real Men Knit

This was a work for my entering portfolio. One of the two "major" works I submitted.

I agonized over this because, well, I don't know how to paint. Background and base colors are done with acrylic ink wash and the detail is done more with gouache.

Since this is a school work blog, after all, I'll post an image I did for my children's book class about a year ago. Though it isn't a children's book, Ender's Game is awesome if you know how to dork out to sci-fi novels. I do, I'm a master.

EDIT: Oh yeah, this is a book cover project. But now I realize I never put the title on the spine. But the right side is the front cover, left is the back.

Workshop Painting

This one was done at workshop a couple weeks back. As you can see, I didn't finish the hair, but thats ok, it kinda works, at least for a quick read. There were more colors on her shirt over her chest that I never got to. Still working with a limited palette here. Only ultramarine for blues, no purples or greens yet. No, wait, I have olive green.

Out of class painting

So this painting wasn't done in class, but it is in the same spirit. Well, actually, its not, cause its more portraiture than composition painting. But still, here it is.

Week 5

You can click the pictures for higher detail

Palette so far:

indian yellow
scarlet lake
yellow ochre
burnt sienna
olive green
alizaron crimson
ultramarine blue

I like using these colors. For painting the models, anyways, I feel I can get enough out of them.
